About Our Activities

Hobbies, interests, socialising, and emotional wellbeing play an important role in our residents’ lives, helping to provide purpose, enjoyment, and fulfilment. A varied activities programme is central to our holistic approach to care, and we encourage residents to participate in ways that suit their interests and abilities.

Our dedicated Activities Coordinators work closely with residents and their families to create personalised wellbeing plans based on individual preferences, life experiences, and strengths. We focus on providing meaningful opportunities for engagement, social interaction, and personal fulfilment.

Birkinshaw Manor offers spacious communal areas throughout the home, providing welcoming spaces for residents, families, and guests to relax and spend time together.

We are proud of our strong links with the local community and regularly welcome organisations such as MIND Active, SMILE Through Sport, and TAG, our visiting therapy dog. Residents are also supported to attend local community events, including activities at the Salvation Army Centre, with assistance from our Lifestyle and Wellbeing Team.

To ensure everyone can benefit from an active and fulfilling lifestyle, we also offer mobile and in-home activities, bringing meaningful experiences directly to residents who may be unable to attend group events.
